Master of Computer Applications (MCA)
Guru Nanak Khalsa Institute of Technology and Management- Technical Campus offers a 3 year and 2 year (lateral entry) Master of Computer Applications (MCA) course which is a professional master's degree in computer applications designed by technical experts. The course has been designed to meet the increasing demand of qualified professionals in the Information Technology (IT) field. It is a postgraduate course which one can pursue after getting a bachelor's degree. This Master of Computer Applications programme is more into application development and so; a lot of focus is on latest programming language and tools to develop faster and better applications and software. It covers several facets of programming, electronics, computational theory, database management and network, probability, mathematics, statistics, accounting, mobile technologies, finance, etc.
The MCA programme is a specially designed courseware, which includes the knowledge of both Software and Hardware. The course structure is designed keeping in mind the overall development of the student. The classroom learning is complemented by practical experiences in the industry. It makes students ready to take up positions as technocrats, system analysts, programmers, system designers and developers in any Information Technology field. The program endeavors to impart complete knowledge with full emphasis on theory and practice. Our students are encouraged to spend a full semester working in the industry, which further gives them insight into the ins and outs of the IT world. Our comfortable, efficient and good study environment trains the students with theoretical and functional aspects so that they can learn everything about computer applications.Duration: 3 years (6 semesters)
Eligibility Criteria(a.)Bachelor's Degree of minimum 3 years' duration in any discipline affiliated to Kurukshetra University; OR (b.)Any university approved by UGC (University Grant Commission) with Mathematics at 10 + 2 level or in graduation; OR (c.)Bachelor's Degree of minimum 3 years' duration in any discipline with Mathematics / Statistics as one of the subjects.
For (LEET) Lateral Entry to MCA 2nd Year(a.)Should be a pass in BCA or B.Sc. (Computer Science/Computer Application/IT) Degree with 50% marks (47.5% Marks for SC/ST) with Mathematics at 10 + 2 level or Graduation Level.
Admission Procedure(a.)Admissions shall be made on the basis of the inter se merit of Online Entrance Test conducted by HSTES. (b.)Admission shall also be made at institute level on the basis of academic merit in the qualifying examinations.
LIST OF DOCUMENTS TO BE BROUGHT AT THE TIME OF REPORTING IN THE INSTITUTE:The candidates must bring the following Original Certificates/Documents/Testimonials along with three sets of duly attested photocopies of these with them.
(a.)Original & duly attested photocopy of Qualifying Examination.
(b.)Latest coloured passport size photograph (10 copies).
(c.)Senior Secondary (10+2) School Certificate.
(d.)Matriculation (10th) / Secondary / High School Certificate.
(f.)Certificate of Medical Fitness.
(g.)Scheduled Caste Certificate (if applicable).
(h.)Backward Class Certificate (if applicable) and affidavit.
(i.)Economically Backward Persons in the General Castes Category (EBP) will have to submit and produce a certificate (if applicable).
(j.)Certificate in respect of Physically Handicapped Candidates (if applicable).
(k.)Proof of annual parental income from all sources (in case of SC/BC/SBC/EBP candidates).
Note: (i) All Originals and 3 sets of attested photo-copies of all applicable documents/testimonials/photos/certificates must be brought at the time of reporting.
(ii) The original certificates shall be returned back to the candidate concerned after verification by the institute.
