5. Study of Advanced Diagnostic Techniques:

Introduction & Applications of New diagnostic techniques for various diseases –ELISA, Immunoblotting Technique.

6. Coordinate Geometry:

Distance formula, section formula, Area of triangle.

B. PHARMACY 3rd  YEAR

7. Combinatorial Chemistry:

General introduction and applications of combinatorial chemistry.

8. Advanced dissolution software’s:

Introduction and application for calculation in in-vitro release of drug from dosage.

9. Pharmacovigilance:

Definition, scope, objective and methods of pharmacovigilance.

10. Marine Sources:

Definition, Classification of important bioactive agents from marine sources, Study of Marine toxins, Marine biomedicals falling under the class of Cardiovascular, Anticancer, Antimicrobial, Anti-inflammatory and Antibiotic drugs.

B. PHARMACY 4th  YEAR

11. Hyphenated Techniques:

Introduction to hyphenated techniques and their applications in pharmacy like GC-MS, LC-MS, LC-NMR, LC-MS-MS, LC-FTIR, GC-MS-MS, GC-GC-MS, GC-NMR, GC-AES.

12. Quality By Design of Experiments, Formulation By Design: USFDA’s view of QBD,elements of QBD, OBD tools, Design of experiments, methods & applications. Optimization techniques: concept of optimization, optimization parameters, classical optimization. Statistical design (simplex & factorial design)
13. Eco Friendly Packaging Materials: Introduction & advantages of eco friendly packaging materials & machinery used in the pharmaceutical industry.
14. A. Toxicity studies: Introduction, Calculation of LD50 & ED50 values & OECD guidelines.

B. CPCSEA Guidelines for laboratory animal facilities.

15. Biostatistics: Applications of mathematics in analyzing the results through statistical techniques like standard deviation, standard error, chi-square test, correlation. Basic statistics-averages statistics of dispersion, coefficient of variation and analysis of variance.
16. Transgenic plants: Introduction & applications of Herbicide resistant, Virus resistant, Insect resistant, Fungi and Bacterial resistant plants. Transgenic plants with improved storage proteins, Stress- cold –drought tolerant plants.
17. Communication Skills: Unit I: Communication: Meaning, nature, importance and purpose of communication, type of communication, process of communication, communication network in an organization strategy for effective communication, verbal and non-verbal communication, barrier to communication, essential of good communication, communication technique

Unit II: Reading skill:  purpose, process, methodologies, and strategy

Unit III: Effective working skill: Elements of effective writing, Main forms of written communication: Agenda, minutes, notice, writing of CV, memo, drafting an email press release, correspondence: personal, official and business report writing

Unit IV: Remedial grammar and usage: Important aspect of English grammar and usage, phrases and clauses

Unit V: Presentation skill: Interview, public speaking, preparing the speech

 

The student will be required to submit practical assignment before examination.
