Pharmacology

Pharmacology deals with the basic knowledge of human anatomy, animal handling, scientific information regarding pharmacology of drugs, practical aspects of pharmacological screening for various medicinal agents using the animal model for pharmacology calculations, biological standardization, and in-vivo drug interactions and toxicity studies .The Department has a Pharamcology lab-1 (APHE Laboratory ) and Pharmacology Lab-2.

APHE Laboratory

Anatomy Physiology and Health Education Lab displays the anatomical diagrams/charts as well as models (working / non-working) of important organs/ human systems/ tissues in laboratory to facilitate the students for proper study and thus, understand the importance of experimental pharmacology. Various minor experiments are conducted on human blood, determination of B.P. Students will also acquire knowledge about health education and first aid in case of emergency.

Pharmacology Laboratory II

Pharmacology Laboratory trained the students in practical field of pharmacology and chemotherapy and bioassays of various drugs, etc. The advanced pharmacology laboratory is specially designed to carry out animal model experiments for analgesic, antihistaminic, antipyretic, anti-hepatotoxic, anti-ulcer, anti-inflammatory activity testing of known and new drugs of chemical and herbal origin. The lab is well equipped with instruments like Sherrington rotating drum and drum cylinder, isolated organ bath, isotonic frontal writing lever, rota rod apparatus etc.
